That applies just as much to Steve Palmer's exhortation to "call for a
stop to US meddling".
I think the discussion is too premised on the (false) presupposition
that everyone in this list is a living-in-imperialist-country leftist,
which leads to the conclusion that "calling for a stop to US meddling"
is going to be somehow effective, whereas "calling for a stop to the
oppression of women and gays by the religious clerics" will be
ineffective .
But this is an international list. For a Marxist in, say, Turkey,
"calling for a stop to the oppression of women and gays by the
religious clerics" may be much more effective than "calling for a stop
to US meddling".
If we aspire to be internationalists, we cannot call for just one of the two.
