[Marxism] Fidel on Obama on Guantanamo

Fidel:

After taking office, Barack Obama said that the decision to return the
territory occupied by the Guantánamo Naval Base to its legitimate owner
requires weighing up the extent to which the defensive capacity of the United
States would be or not in the least affected.

Soon after that he added, with regards to the return of the territory occupied
by the Base to Cuba, that he would first consider under which concessions Cuba
would accept that solution, which would be tantamount to demanding a change in
its political system, a price against which Cuba has been struggling for half a
century.

Eli:

Fidel seems to have better access to the pronouncements of Obama than I do. One
of the huge failings of the White House website is that, under Bush, every word
spoken by Bush in a press conference, interview, speech etc. was transcribed
and easily available on the website; under Obama, so far, it's strictly
selective. Transcriptions of the press secretary press conference finally
started appearing after a week, but no so (so far) with the President. As far
as what Fidel refers to above, I would love to see it, because it helps to
explain why first Raul, then Felipe, and now Fidel are suddenly talking about a
subject they hadn't talked about for years - the return of Guantanamo. But, as
I said, I have no idea what Fidel is referring to above; this is the very first
reference to any such pronouncements by Obama that I've seen.
