Re: [Marxism] May I ask not to be wrongly labelled

The item by Walter simply does not say what Artesian says it says, which is
why he has to build a structure of interpretation and "logical" reasoning
atop it, rather than letting it stand as evidence in its own right.

Even the claim that Eli was "pleased" because the bombing could be
interpreted to confirm his position (in fact, I think everybody on the list
expected Obama to continue imperialist wars, and were opposed to this)-- was
bit of inappropriate psychologizing -- clearly indicates that Walter was
displeased, not pleased, as Artesian insists on suggesting he was, by the
bombing.

There is no endorsement of imperialism in the comments. The reason why
Artesian has to "prove" that it says that is that the words themselves do
not say that.

There is certainly no trace of the supposed Lippmann deal to trade his
support for the US war in Pakistan for softening of the embargo, as Artesian
has also argued. (And, by the way, I see no sign at all that that is Cuba's
position.)

And all this interpretation is in a context where Walter has no chance to
explain what he meant. I hope he gets a chance to do so, and on this list,
and as a member of it.

This is the kind of stuff, like the indiscriminate "Marxists for Obama"
label and the "Obamaphobes" and "Obamaphiliac" labeling that reflects a
factional atmosphere which should be systematically overcome on the list,
with or without leadership from the top.

Nuff said.
Fred
