i put the responsibility for duplication more on the sender than on Louis.
i think that we should first expect contributors to check that they are not
duplicating something already on the list before they share an article - and
still it will happen, sometimes unavoidable because things have been sent
almost simultaneously, sometimes because many of us can't/don't keep up with
all the messages and have missed material sent earlier.
generally it is the better articles that are sent several times...might have
missed the first sending but glad to see it later on... as long as
senders observe the decorum of rarely sending a long article in full, the
delete button may be 'an adequate instrument'
