[Marxism] Personal statement

For at least a week or two, I am de facto reducing myself to something like
lurker status on the "Marxism" List. Not asking for any formal change in
status, although Louis can of course unsub or expel anyone at will.
Ownership is ten-tenths of the law.

Frankly, debating just about anything on this list has gotten way too
explosive and harmful, and with some actually damaging consequences. I don't
intend to be responsible for any problems with Pakistani readers and so
forth. 

I may post a news item now and then, but I am not going to engage in any
debates whatsoever for the next period. I have too many differences of
opinion with the list mainstream, which I view as sectarian (Louis, Shane,
Larry, David T, etc.), and I don't see what I can accomplish by engaging
besides encouraging further narrowing of the scope of opinion permitted
grows somewhat narrower, I see no reason to plunge into a mine-field.

People who want to find my opinion pieces on things can check out the Green
Left, Change-Links, Snow-News lists, and also the relatively more restricted
Socialist Voice and Solidarity lists. When I post on something that is also
being debated on the list, I nay provide a link.

Probably I will get fired up again at some point and jump in (and but from
now I plan to deliberately avoid any and engagement in differences of
opinion here without exception. A personal decision. I need the rest, and
the comfort of knowing that my computer screen is not about to blow up in my
face.
