I know that, but at least he is defending a consistent liberal solution
to the economic crisis. Most people with illusions in Obama expected him
to name somebody like Krugman to a top economics post rather than the
pro-corporate types he has surrounded himself with. Btw, today's
Washington Post has an interview with Obama that includes his stated
desire to "solve" the entitlements problem in Social Security and
Medicare. It is rather ironic that the New Deal was launched through
Social Security and the man elected under the illusion by some that he
will launch a new New Deal seems determined to attack a major New Deal
program.
