[Marxism] Another Farber Critique of Cuba

I would say that I personally fall somewhere between the PSL (unwavering
support) and ISO (relentless criticism) lines on Cuba and enjoyed Louis'
response to Farber's book on the origins of the Cuban Revolution. However,
this article addresses, though not in detail, some things that have bothered
me about Cuban foreign policy which I have not yet had time to look into,
specifically support for the Derg and other questionable governments in
Africa. I am realistic enough to understand that the Cuban government must
be pragmatic if it is to survive and in this context one can understand its
relationships with a reactionary government such as Mexico's which at least
refused to bow to imperialist pressure to take part in the blockade. Of
course, his last line is telling..."a commitment to revolutionary doctrine"
should apparently take precedent over survival.
