[Marxism] Gaza again

I had not intended to post again on the atrocities that are being committed.
But a soundbite from Barack Obama was just too much. It seems a life time
ago since I posted on how we Irish despise and hate traitors and informers
more than our direct enemies. I remember a post from Joaquin which said
something like it was foolish not to acknowledge that Obama was a bourgeois
politician and so he could not be designated as a traitor. But millions
truly hoped he would bring change and to see him bland away in the midst of
one of the great crimes of our time is to see the dwarfish thief don the
giant's robe.

It is of course in foreign affairs that the travesty of hopes placed in
Obama will be most revealed. Wallerstien says that domestically he will do
some social democratic things and we must welcome that. I agree but to look
into the face of the victims of US imperialism is something else. Bush was a
straight out enemy. He never pretended to be anything else. He promised
continuity and he delivered it. Oabam promises change and he will deliver
continuity.

Looking at the images of the murdered babies in Gaza I find that hard, very
hard, to forgive.
