Good to see Fred posting on this crisis.  We have had our disagreements and
will continue to do so.  But there is no one on the list I respect more.

I attended the second vigil today in Brisbane.   There were fewer of us
today - the  DSP seem to have decided to stay away.  Unfortunate that
decision because today we had a speakout as well as the distribution of
leaflets and the mute exhibition of pictures and banners.

There was disagreement among those who organised the vigil.  The organised
left wanted a speakout while the unorganised (one is tempted to say
disorganised) wanted a respectful vigil.

Well today we unveiled the heavy brigade of Left wing orators.  Before I got
up to speak a young man came up to me.  He seemed agitated by the smallness
of our protest.  I agreed it was small but I assured him that the Israeli
butchers would be happier if we were not there at all.  What we did was
small but it was part of the world wide protest against the great obscenity
that is Zionism, as such it was not insignificant.
Well whatever the reason today's vigil was IMHO much more effective than
yesterday's.   The news from Gaza gets worse each day.  And that may be
getting thru to the people of Brisbane.

When I spoke yesterday the death toll was 600 something now it is over 700.
When I speak tomorrow it will be over 800.  What is the target the butchers
have in mind?

Whatever we do and wherever we do it, the Israelis are watching.  They have
tried to organize pro-American demos in the States, because they have been
shocked to the core by the sight of pro-Palestinian demonstrations in
American.  By the way I would like to thank Eli for his videos,  They are
very inspiring.

Around the world Israel is becoming anathema.  That very fact will save
Palestinian lives.
