Ironically, the concept of usufructuary rights was at the heart of 
British farming in the very period when it was spawning 
capitalism  according to Robert Brenner . Basically, usufructuary 
rights and true capitalist farming are opposed to each other. I dealt 
with this in a blog article a couple of summers ago.
