[Marxism] Why I won´t demonstrate anything any more
Dear S. Artesian, if you peruse the thousands of words I wrote on this
list (and not just me, not at all), you would understand that when I
speak of "national liberation" I am talking of the concrete form that
class struggle assumes in what Lenin (not me) defined as semi-colonies.
It is WITHIN this struggle that the struggle between socialists and
non-socialists (that is, defenders of the capitalist mode of production)
takes place. It should be a sobering experience, for you as for many
others, to ask yourselves why is it that save for those places in the
colonial and semi-colonial world where the socialists knew to become the
best defenders of the national interest against foreign yoke no
socialist has ever been able to lead a revolution in this part of the
globe. By the way, though I understand that it has not been your
intention, I would like to point out to you that placing inverted commas
around the phrase is almost insulting for the masses in the Third World,
since imperialist domination, here, is not a theoretical issue to be
debated but a concrete and real fact of life which lays a tombstone not
just over the socialist struggle, but also over the possibilities of
"normal" bourgeois development.
This is why I have decided, for the sake of my always short times, not
to "butress" my gross assertions with long demonstrations.
Sorry, I would love to do it. I have a natural inclination to explain
myself fully. But on Marxmail I won´t follow it, because I assume we are
all grown ups and we can do our homework by ourselves. I am convinced
that we can be good comrades and even good friends, and who knows, when
I can have some saying on the technical issues you are so privy to, I
will not forget this. But for the time being I will content myself with
telegraphic script.
I guess you won´t feel insulted if I explain that I have more pressing
issues to attack.
Well, this said, best to you and all the comrades on Marxmail. There is
a very long and uphill ahead us. Humankind needs socialism if it ever
wants to survive. A good 2009, and all that. From my heart to all of you.
