And not just ... it was all over the English and Spanish language
international networks. The Spanish network in particular got an Israeli
foreign minister spokesperson on the phone who said it wasn't a humanitarian
shipment at all, but a media provocation and so on ... which they
counterposed to reporting from Karl Panhaul, a bilingual international
correspondent who described in great detail how the Dignity was deliberately
rammed and almost sunk by an Israeli gunboat. The newscast I saw this
morning must have spent close to half their air time on this issue, and I
heard --but did not see-- that the US CNN network and Al Jazeera's
English-language networks both interviewed McKinney about what happened.
