This is really ridiculous.
Do they really believe that by applying cruel treatment to a living human
being, one can eliminate the humiliated one to beat back? Do they really
think that people can be reduced to a submissive existence crawling on earth
on their knees, happy to receive once in a while a crumb from the massa's
table?
For about eight decades now the colonial settler society is pounding the
Palestinian Arabs, driving them from their land and out of their homes, killing
and maiming hundreds and thousands; first as the auxiliary police to the
colonial power, since six decades now as a colonial racist regime in their own
right.
In 1923, the right wing Zionist Vladimir Yabotinsky wrote about the "Iran
Wall" which had to confront the Arab Palestinians, and force them into
submission, and he believed this would be possible.
"A voluntary reconciliation with the Arabs is out of the question either now
or in the future. If you wish to colonize a land in which people are already
living, you must provide a garrison for the land, or find some rich man or
benefactor who will provide a garrison on your behalf. Or else-or else, give
up your colonization, for without an armed force which will render physically
impossible any attempt to destroy or prevent this colonization, colonization is
impossible, not difficult, not dangerous, but IMPOSSIBLE!... Zionism is a
colonization adventure and therefore it stands or falls by the question of
armed force. It is important... to speak Hebrew, but, unfortunately, it is even
more important to be able to shoot - or else I am through with playing at
colonizing."
And still, 75 years later, the Arab Palestinians have still not resigned to
an
existence of second class citizens. Nor have the Irish after 300 years of
British rule and intervention.
What a foolish misconception of the role of violence in human relations.
Cheers,
