[Marxism] New Deal: Racism, and imperialism
Louis Proyect lnp3
You are evading my point, Charles.
^^^
CB: No, I'm contradicting your "point".
^^^
You are trying to rally people
around a president who plans to escalate the war in Afghanistan and
who has described himself as having no differences with John McCain
over what to do with Hamas.
^^^
CB: I'm supporting a President who shows enormous promise for making both
domestic an foreign US policy better.
^^^^
I don't care what Obama says or does
about American workers, Black or white, as long as he has the blood
of Afghan or Palestinian workers on his hands.
^^^
CB: Which he doesn't. And your saying you don't care what he does about
American workers is "reactionary".
^^^
^^^
This, by the way, is
exactly the same attitude I had toward the warmonger FDR who put the
SWP leaders in prison for opposing WWII as an imperialist war.
^^^
CB: So what ? Your position on FDR is politically incorrect , too.
^^^^
When
FDR was in cahoots with the Teamsters bureaucracy to silence them,
guess who cheered FDR on. The CPUSA--the same group that got screwed
for Smith Act violations 10 years later.
^^^
CB: You are just chocked full of non-critical historical ditties.
^^^^
>CB: Well, but you aren't talking about the New Deal, which is what I
>wrote about.
>
>Also, Obama doesn't have a reactionary foreign policy. Actually, he
>has no foreign policy yet until he gets into office, but what he has
>been saying is not reactionary.
You don't think it is reactionary to endorse the Israeli assault on
Hamas? I guess we have different understandings of what a reactionary
foreign policy amounts to.
^^^
CB; Nope. Yes, we have different definitions of "reactionary" for sure. Obama
is not a reactionary.

>CPUSA Condemns Gaza Attacks
>Issued by the Communist Party, USA

What good does it do to "make the record" when the CPUSA functions as
the tail on Obama's kite. Here's what Obama's chief political adviser
said yesterday:

One of Barack Obama's chief spokesmen repeated on Sunday that it
would be counterproductive for the president-elect to weigh too
deeply into the crisis between Israel and Hamas while another
commander-in-chief occupied the Oval Office.
^^^
CB: So Obama didn't endorse the Israeli attack on Hamas.
^^^^
But David Axelrod, appearing on CBS's Face the Nation, did reaffirm
Obama's commitment to the "special relationship between the United
States and Israel" in a way that suggested general sympathy for the
Jewish state's actions.
Speaking a day after Israeli airstrikes, targeting and destroying
Hamas facilities in Gaza, killed more than 275, Axelrod said the
president-elect, from on-the-ground experience, understood the urge
for retaliatory action.
