LP & Comrades:

The problem was two-fold & should have been foreseen in coming:

1. You had a good number of PDA's (http://www.pdamerica.org/) or their allies 
w/i the GP  Who would move to organize a return to the DP fold or block any 
substantive independent political action.

2. You had a candidate (Nader) who was not going to organize a well organized 
political party beyond the elections. 

 Some of the marxists activists should have learned a lesson from the Labor 
Party project and similar forays. A truly  independent political party requires 
a membership (and voters) committed to such project.

As James P. Cannon once said, the art of politics is knowing what to 
do next. In 2000 the Green Party was what to do next. Unfortunately 
something else along those lines is needed now since the party was 
destroyed by DP supporters like Ted Glick, Medea Benjamin et al.
