No analogy here.  Blum was a socialist (while Obama is a socialite).

And the New Deal wasn't really a classical popular front either.
There were no workers' party involved in the government.

Historical analogies are always iffy because what one person regards
as irrelevant, another sees as decisive.  And all analogies between
concepts developed in a multiparty political system with working class
political parties fall flat when applied in the U.S.
