That's the argument against the war in Afghanistan? Collective punishment?
And so does that mean that a special ops mission that targets Al Qaeda leaders
is acceptable, tolerable?

Come on, the argument against the war in Afghanistan is the same as against
the war in Iraq-- it, the war, is driven by the needs of imperialism to destroy
any and all obstacles to increasing the immiseration so necessary to capitalist
accumulation.
