It might be worthwhile sometime to post
Jacob Weisberg's article,
?Pop Goes Elie Wiesel,? New Republic, November 10, 1986,
in which Weisberg documented how Wiesel and then
Boston University president John Silber, actively campaigned
to get Wiesel the Nobel Peace Prize. Apparently, Silber
started out the intention of getting Wiesel the Nobel Prize
in Literature, then, when he discovered that Wiesel's literary
work was not considered to be worthy of that prize, he
turned his attention to getting him the Nobel Peace Prize
instead.
