Questions for JB on his post...     

Joaquin, you noted that a former 'stringer' for CNN is going to run for 
Prez of El Salvador next year and is expected two in. So, some 
question/comments.

1. What do you know of this persons actual politics? Are they lined up 
with any wing on the FMLN? What can you tell us about them?

2. The capitalists in El Salvador tend to be more 'retro' than the rest 
of Latin America. Akin to the Oligarchy types in eastern Bolivia: 
racist, super-pro-capitalists ideologically, more willing to note than 
anyone to essentially the right of a fascist is a "communist" and they 
all have fond memories of their "death squad democracy" of the 1980s. In 
light of this, they are more willing to steal an election than, perhaps, 
in other countries. Do you think this is likely are are there ways to 
expose it if they move to do it.

2.1 This same right-wing capitalist political caste in El Salvador, 
hasn't really grown out of the 1980s. Do you think they would try to 
prevent the FMLN from winning by threatening or implementing a "golpe 
estado"?
