I live in Northern California, watch WAY too much TV, and definitely don't 
remember seeing any such ads. That's not to say there weren't any, and if you 
say you remember seeing such ads, I can't argue with you, only to say I don't. 
I will say that such an ad run by someone else still wouldn't be the same as a 
*public* statement by Obama on the subject, particularly in the wake of the 
pro-8'ers putting out the piece invoking Obama.
