Obama and his team will deliver absolutely everything he needs to
deliver to head off an independent movement capable of destabilizing
the current social, economic and political order...and not more than
they think they need to do in order to accomplish this.  There is
nothing particularly determined about how much or how little that will
be.

The same could be said for any administration.

The interesting dimension of this one is that it faces uniquely
threatening conditions, not the least of which has been the
disintegration of the prosperity that has been the underpinning of the
order's stability for several generations.
