Well, duh!
Given the depth of the "economic contraction", and the company's
decision to relocate, what other choice did they have than take the
money? The union needed 11 million to get the business up and
running, and apparently they ain't got it. Sometimes it's better
just to take the money and start over.
Yes it was a smaller victory than many of us had hoped, but the
ripple-propaganda effect has been immense. I think Mark is right.
We're liable to see more of this kind of thing in the near future,
maybe even in Detroit (once again).
