[Marxism] US/Iran and Israel.

It is not a secret that Israel is the only state in the Middle East that
posses nuclear weapons. It uses it as a whip against the Arabs.  It message
is: Stay on line or you will join Hiroshima and Nagasaki.



 This is basically why Israel opposes Iran nuclear  program. If Iran will
posses this weapon the power of the Israeli threat to turn the other states
of the  Middle East into a poising desert is  not effective any more.



 The  other historical weapon the cynical use of the Jewish holocaust  to
justify the Israeli ruling class crimes against the Arabs and in particular
the Palestinians  has been diminishing for years

.

The last war of  Israel in Lebanon was aimed  with the blessing and support
o the US against Hezbollah  an ally of Iran. The failure of Israel in this
war following it withdrawal from South Lebanon after 18 years of occupation
has proven to the American ruling class that Israel is much weaker than the
image it has built for many years in particular since 1967.



Following the defeat of Israel in Lebanon that adds to the failure of the US
in the war against Iraq meant that the US needs Iran to control the region
and to replace Israel at least to a large degree. The ruling class of Iran
has offered its service to the imperialists for a long time but Bush has
rejected them.



Following the defeat in Lebanon the Israeli state tried to get the US to
attack Iran  . The miscalculation of the government of Georgia to drag the
US to the war in the Balkan has proven that the US is not ready to open a
third front, in particular in light of its weak position in  Pakistan. If  all
of this was not enough , the US and the capitalist system in general has
entered into the worst crisis since 1929.  The outcome of this situation is
clear. The new American administration will seek a closer relationship with
Iran to police the region.



If Israel had  any hopes it will get Bush's administration to attack Iran
between now and the new president the latest indications are that Bush has
opposed  Israel pressure  to begin a new war. Thus we can find these days
articles in the Israeli mass media  telling the Israelis that they can
forget an attack on Iran and that Israel will have to live with the fact it
can not stop the Iranian nuclear program.



There is no question that Iran is emerging as a strong local  force that is
ready to police the exportation of the working class in the Middle East.



It is not a secret that even among left organizations there were open or
less open hopes that the US will defeat the reactionary regime of Iran. Not
only the Social Democracy  but  the Stalinists.

US finds a communist ally against Iran

The United States, which used Islamic fundamentalists against communism in
Afghanistan in the 1980s, has embarked on an operation to use communists to
bring about the end of the Islamic regime in Iran.



The dozens of anti-cleric and secular Iranian exile groups operating from
the West against the Islamic regime in Tehran broadly fall into the
following categories:

# The left-oriented Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MEK - People's Mujahideen) and
elements allied with it in the National Council of Resistance of Iran
(NCRI). They mainly operate from West Europe, with headquarters in France.

# The monarchists, mainly operating from the US, with the help of
neo-conservative and Jewish lobby groups.

# The remnants and new adherents of the old pro-Moscow Communist Party of
Iran, called the Tudeh Party, and other communist factions, mainly operating
from the United Kingdom.



 However not only the classical reformists dreamed of US destroying the
Iranian regime but  even the IMT led by Woods  that claims to be a
Trotskyist has an Iranian section that its program is the refusal  to defend
Iran against an Imperialist war.







 However it is not only a pie in the sky but a reactionary dream. Was the US
or Israel to attack Iran, the duty of the working class organizations was to
defend Iran military without giving them any political support. The reason
is not because Iran is progressive regime , it is a capitalist state based
on the exploitation of the working class and the oppression of the Arabs
minority and women. However it is an oppressed nation and the US and Israel
are imperialist states and the imperialists are the worse enemy.


 The only force that can overthrow the reactionary regime is the working
class by a socialist revolution that will replace the existing capitalist
state by a workers state as part of a socialist federation of the Middle
East
