Re: [Marxism] On Obama's chances to win
Ok, I will stick my neck out and say that Obama is an absolute certainty.
That means that I think we should not be poring over the polls like some
soothsayer over the runes. Of course everyone is free to do what they like &
polls are interesting in their own right and Joaquin writes as alwasy very
persuasively about them. But I absolutley refuse to be recruited to the "Oh
my Gawd what will we do if Obama loses?" camp.
Of course I do not want McCain and his wretched sidekick to win; but
neither do the New York Times nor the Los Angeles Times, nor Colin Powell
etc. Therefore Obama doesn't need me to be at all anxious about him. He is
also getting $10 million from Wall Street and McCain is only getting $7
million according to figures I saw in the Guardian (I think).
I watched last nite an elderly Afro-Americaexplaining why he was waiting out
in the rain for a glimpse of Obama. I had to fight against the depression
that brought on. Ah well - one day the working class will see thru the
bourgeois tricksters.
regards
Gary
