[Marxism] Moderating the Moderator
I like Lou's list, and it is his list to do with as he pleases. I like it
even if it is peopled by sometimes less than profound people. "Toothless"
and "dissolved" come easily to mind, and sometimes the guy who writes
cowboy novels, but even they once in a while post things of interest.
Which brings me to my point. What is it with you, Louis, and Walter Lipman.
I find a lot of the stuff he posts interesting, even though I do not agree
with his point of view on some important issues, such as China. Most people
on the list ignore Walter when he writes things on these topics. I ignore
most of what Joaquin writes, too. I ignore almost everything that toothless
writes. So what is your problem with Lipman?
If you want to purge the list of boring commentary you will reduce the
volume by at least 50%. Maybe the best remedy would be to kick off all the
former members of would be vanguard parties from the list, and current
members, too.
Or, just ignore them when they write what you consider to be blather.
My personal point of view is that as moderator you should stop flame wars,
and kick off trolls, and nicely tell people when you think they are boring.
And you should try to focus the discussion by pointing to important issues.
I think you do a pretty good job, but sometimes get carried away. In the
case of Walter, I do not understand your strong emotion.
But, it's your list, and your time.
All the best, Anthony
