I share David's interest in Trotskyist history, but I don't see that
as "the real problem."

Peter touched the lives of thousands and directly influence hundreds
of us in the SWP and YSA, a worthy achievement in its own right. But
those numbers were dwarfed by his achievement as a leader of the Green
Party and a general agitator for third party politics. I suspect that
those who consult Wiki for information on Peter will roughly reflect
these numbers.

More's to the point, I guess, the slanders in the article are aimed at
poisoning the legacy of a very principled struggle made to preserve
the independence of the Green Party in opposition to the compromisers
and quibblers. This is and will remain an important question for
those concerned about fostering a broader insurgency.

And those are much more important numbers than those for the old
Trotskyists strolling down nostalgia road....

As such, it would be nice to get the information straightforward in
the article. I'd do it myself, but I'm sure others on this list were
much closer to the experience and far more qualified.
