Re: [Marxism] U.S. workers and imperialist domination

Brad writes, "I am not sure if you wanted responses on your posting of your
exchange, but I don't know why you would post something that you did not
want people to respond to.

"First of all my understanding of P & G' s overall point is not that US
imperialism suppresses US working class consciousness. In fact, it is almost
the opposite of this. US bourgeoisie class power and the specific an unique
relationship it has with the US state in subordinating the US workers and
rest of the polity is the source of US global power."

Yes, Brad's suspicion is absolutely right, I did mean for people to comment
on the exchange if so moved, including the bulk of John's post which I
didn't address (and am not in a position to until I read the original
article that prompted it) but it seemed interesting and thought-provoking as
is Brad's contribution. I don't agree with the Marxist=reducing
fundamentally to class approach I seem to sense in there, at least not in
the sense of a workers v bosses picture that puts aside nation and gender as
*fundamental* axis of oppression and economic exploitation under capitalism,
that cannot be reduced simply to workers versus bosses, even though class
based in a sense, in that the primary beneficiary of ALL three axis (class,
gender, nationality/race) is a class. But don't want to get much further
into this specific discussion today before reading the original piece.
