Re: [Marxism] An open letter to our Cubaholic [was: Cuba policy asa U.S. domestic political issue]

Kai writes, "The issue isn't whether the list is open to foreigners or not,
it is about whether policy towards Cuba is foreign policy or domestic
policy."

No, not really. It's about Walter's penchant for randomly injecting Cuba
into discussions. There was some discussion about domestic policy in
relation to the U.S. election campaigns that Walter came charging in on with
something about the Democrats and Cuba. Louis called him on it --quite
rightly-- saying we were talking here about domestic policy, and Walter
responded by saying, more or less, that it was the U.S. policy towards Cuba
he was addressing therefore it was domestic policy.

Now I know, because Walter told me so EXPLICITLY in a phone conversation,
that Walter doesn't necessarily believe any of the crap he throws on this
list. He told me, it's the internet, not the real world, it doesn't matter,
it is meaningless. I don't know for sure if this was a "cover" story because
he didn't want to discuss his increasingly Stalinist simpleton political
stance, which I'd called him out on, or if he really and truly meant it.

But I think he meant it, as his whole diversion around foreign policy being
domestic shows. It's just asinine trolling that he is doing. That's the real
issue, how long public opinion on this list will let him get away with it.
