reason for the rest of us to make a big fuss over atheism,
just as most of us here don't a big fuss over not believing
in lucky charms or the powers of rabbits' feet.

My sentiments also. But Goff's sermon may be a sadly more effective way of 
reaching US workers and soldiers who only speak biblical. The IWW 
organizers, who weren't believers like Goff, understood this and adapted, 
judging by their songbook, and it's why religious figures have frequently 
led protest and liberation movements. Not that I could personally abide a 
turn to the churches as Ezra Einstein proposed in Tariq Ali's spoof, 
Redemption.
