normal and predictable movement toward the  center
most people are quite cynical and think that this
is just what  politicians do to get elected

Giving his final speech of his campaign for nomination as Democratic  
candidate to AIPAC, during which he affirmed the belief that the capital of  
Israel 
is Jerusalem, which would place it in violation of international law;  vowing 
to deploy more troops to Afghanistan if elected; in his recent speech in  
Berlin talking about how the fight against Communism was in the service of  
freedom; pledging himself to renewed efforts in the war without end against 
what  he 
describes as terror but which many would describe as resistance to terror -  
Walter if these are the words of a centrist, I shudder to think what you  
consider right wing!
