Re: [Marxism] What did Lenin learn from Hegel?
Actually, Lenin's notes on Hegel are far from an easy read. One of
the merits of Anderson's book is that he parses those notes, does
a very readable exegesis of the text, then indicates how Lenin
applied that reading of Hegel in developing his analysis of
imperialism, the national question, etc. Recall that Lenin took up
the reading of Hegel in WWI as part of his exploration of the
roots of the division that had exploded within the Second
International. He went back to basics, so to speak, in a new look
at what Marx himself had learned from Hegel and dialectics.
Reading Hegel critically marks a major watershed in Lenin's
philosophical and political evolution.

Better yet, read Lenin's Philosophical Notebooks, Vol 38(?) of the
collected
works.
Lenin studied Hegel to gain a better comprehension of the
dialectic, and the
way Marx's terms and categories in Capital reflect just that
interpenetration.
Marx never "abandoned" Hegel. I think in his correspondence he
mentions
returning to Hegel's Science of Logic when preparing to or when
actually
writing Capital to refine his presentation.
