Thinking further, the Stainless Steal Rat by Harry Harrison could possibly
do. It's SF about the far future, when crime rates are really low, and this
guy decides that he is going to live freely and just steal stuff, thinking
that in a way he's doing people a favour (giving them excitement, and so on)
and that noone real will lose, given insurance, etc. If I were a critic from
the WSWS I would be talking about "limited perspective" and so on, but I
don't require my books to be 100% ideologically correct, YMMV ;-)
