Re: [Marxism] Trotsky documentary

It should be noted that the Brian Palmer talk on his book on James P.
Cannon and the showing of this Trotsky documentary is all part of the
month long "Labor Fest" that has been going on in San Francisco and the
Bay Area for at least two decades. To my knowledge, it is rather unique
in that it brings together every cultural aspect of the working class
and the labor movement in a grand, multi-week, multi-city "Fete".
Everything from walking tours of the 1934 General Strike (including an
ILWU/IBU sponsored boat trip) to movie showings to Gays in the labor
movement to fighting fascism in Spain to...well...you get the picture.

The Labor Fest is supported financially by various local trade unions,
the SF and various Bay Area labor councils and community groups and
individuals.

Here is the web site: http://www.laborfest.net/

The schedule (which will give you an idea of what one can expect there)
is here:

David
PS...Ken Loach, who has visited Labor Fest in the past, was here on the
July 5th for the world premiere of his new movie.
