Actually, in terms of the material world and practical politics, your
view of socialism IS based on the organization.

Regardless of what prayers are in your head or your heart, in every
real sense, you are asking voters to vote for your club and against
other clubs, equally whether they are other socialists, independents,
Democratic or Republican.  That's how the votes are counted.

If it were otherwisse, the various socialist grouplets would be
combined to field a common socialist slate of candidates.  THAT vote
would be a vote for socialism and not for a socialism defined in terms
of the organization.
