Oh, right, you thought it had. The oil companies loved the burning oil
fields and US exporters waxed fat on the boom in consumer spending in Iraq's
rapidly growing economy. That's your thesis, isn't it: that most
capitalists, not just defence contractors, prefer war and destruction to
peace, order and good government?
