Yossi Schwartz: "Israel is a death trap for the Israel working class"
and the statement is correct, as far as it goes. Unfortunately, it's
incomplete and one-sided, leaving out significant parts of the full
equation.

It views the fate of the Jewish people in isolation from humanity as
a whole, and speaks, in an oddly Zionistic way, to the concerns of
the Jewish people distinct from humanity as a whole. If the choice
before humanity is still, as Engels wrote, "socialism or barbarism",
that applies to the Jewish people who remain an integral element of
humanity as a whole. Cuba's independence apostle, Jose Marti, had a
great way of expressing this concept: "Patria es humanity", which
means, roughly, "Our homeland is humanity", which is pretty much
equivalent to "a world without borders".

Unfortunately, the only revolutionary struggles currently going on
in the region are those being led by such groups as Hezbollah and
Hamas, struggle against the Zionist occupation of Palestine and 
against Israeli threats to Lebanon. While I wish there were further
working class struggles beyond simple trade union ones, alas there
don't seem to be any right now beyond the struggles against the
Israeli-Zionist occupation of Palestinian land.

It seems not reasonable to say that the Zionist ruling class is
preparing the physical annihilation of the Jews without adding a
modifying adjective "unwittingly" for the sake of clarity.

Furthermore, I'd add that the very formation of the state of
Israel was a crime against the Jewish people as it set them up
against the masses of Arabs in the Middle East, and set up the
Jews to become a state more or less like any other, instead of
integrating the Jews into their own local national populations.
That's my sense, though perhaps there's more national sentiment
among Jews than it appears to me. I could be wrong about that.

Anyway, I do enjoy discussions with Yossi as they do go to the
heart of certain important issues. Cuba may be at the heart of
my interests, as normalization of US-Cuba relations is at the
center of my concerns, but I am Jewish, and am concerned about
the fate of Jews everywhere, since I am one myself. One crime
of which Zionism particularly responsible is its claim that it
speaks for all Jews everywhere. I cannot be silent in the face
of that kind of declaration, to which I say: "Count me out!"

I'm for a democratic, secular, unitary state without special
rights, special privileges or special advantages for anyone.

The only solution for the Jews any where is the socialist revolution
and this is true as well as in Europe or the US as well as in
Palestine. The historical alternative to the socialist revolution as
far as the Jews are concern in this epoch of decline of capitalism is
the physical destruction of the Jews.

Israel is a death trap for the Jewish Israeli masses. Its survival
depend on the massive support of American imperialism and the role
that the Israeli ruling class is performing for the imperialists. 
The US whose holding over this region is has been in decline may 
sooner or later decide that the support for the Zionist state is 
too expensive.

The only alternative to physical destruction that the Zionist ruling
class is preparing for the Israelis, is to join the revolutionary
struggle of the Arab working class
