IMHO This is the wrong question R. It is not this particular war but the
role of WAR that is economically essential to capital.  We  have endless war
and we need to ask why.  For me Sweezey's comments on the role of war in
reversing the stagnation of the 30s provide the most significant insight
into the place of war within capitalism.
