[Marxism] Fallout from Energy Crunch

Here in upstate NY a group of truckers rallied yesterday. The excerpt I
saw on the TV news had local politicians and truckers railing against
the tax on diesel. They want it repealed, its about 32 cents.
Since "downstate" politicians have generally opposed such a repeal, the
truckers were also threatening not to haul into New York City.
This is probably an empty threat, but it does show how rifts are opening
between regions in the US under the pressure of the crisis.
Upstate residents have few options for mass transit, unlike their NYC
counterparts.
