There is a book by Ronald L. Meek on the relationship of Marx to Malthus.
In search for "Malthus population competition" there will come up what is most
important for the issue in question. And "Malthus blue books" and "Malthus
Darwin" may be useful.
Engels *Outlines of a Critique of Political Economy* in particular may be very
interesting.

I was trying to say that neoliberalism originates from Malthus not from Smith.
