You missed my point entirely, which is that any growing crisis in the US
economy increases the prospects of US military might being brought to bear
against
its economic rivals.

If recent history teaches us anything it's that the US ruling class is
willing to do whatever it takes to maintain its hegemony.

The only power able to stop it is/would be the US working class and
oppressed. Judging by the response to Hurricane Katrina, however, there is
still some
ways to go before they wake from their slumber.

By the way, under capitalism it's not the economy that determines everything,
it's the drive for profits.
