Here is how I see these two camps. The first camp tends to assume
'imperialism' means only US imperialism; anybody else doesn't really count.
The world divides into the Big Bad Bully, the Cowardly Puppets, and the
Brave Resisters.

The second camp, in which I count myself, argues that all these characters
are competitors in a dirty game played at the expense of the world's
peoples. The game is the same, though the competitors are not equally
matched. The result, however, is far from guaranteed, since weak players
often team up with stronger ones and nobody can stay on top form forever -
as shown by the Big Bad British Bullies in seasons past.

For the first camp the solution involves backing the Brave Resisters against
the Big Bad Bully. For the second camp, it means rejecting the entire game
and coming up with a better way to organize human society on a global scale.
