[Marxism] Is Obama toast this time? Will our clueless criticfinally get to butter him?
Joaquin:
Kohut's point was rather that Mrs. Clinton's "electability" argument
was
bullshit.

CB: In the Pennsylvania debate, when Clinton was asked could Obama win
(now I forget whether it was Pennsylvania or the whole thing. I think
Pennsylvania) in November , she replied "yes, yes, yes", and like she
believed what she was saying. In general, I thought she looked calmer
and more "at peace" with herself in this debate than previously. The day
before Gov. Rendell, Clinton's top supporter in Penn, said Obama could
win Pennsylvania in November. This is an important change from what
they had been saying. Several television commentators noted this , and
pointed out that this contradict's Clinton's main argument to the
superdelegates.
I think Clinton has decided to shift on that point, and move toward
accepting that Obama has won. I imagine that the Dem party heavies have
been really pressuring her to stop the sharp campaign against Obama ,
her fellow Dem.
It will be interesting to see what Clinton says in her convention
speech on all the issues she has been criticizing Obama on. I can even
see her making arguments against her own attacks on Obama in the
interest of unity.
In a way, Clinton is taking the steam out of a lot of "attacks" on
Obama that McCain would use. In other words, Clinton may be doing Obama
a favor by making all the anti-Obama points she scores now "stale" for
McCain. Obama is also getting practice on how to respond to them, and
will probably be more read for them when McCain raises them. And as I
say, Clinton may even be the first to start protecting Obama from McCain
on the subjects she has raised against Obama.
