Straight from the Horse’s mouth: Obama can win
Straight from the Horse?s mouth: Obama can win
I think Hillary Clinton?s admission that Barak Obama
can win the general election will be a turning point
in the Democratic Party nominating process. Clinton?s
admission in yesterday?s debate gave up the only real
card she had to play against Obama. Obama will win the
nomination, and almost certainly the election.
Ms. Clinton knows better than most that we live in the
machine age. Not just the four-wheel carriage and
microchip varieties of machines, but the political
machines.
Turnout, whether of the living or the dead, is the key
to
The simple fact is that the Republican machine has at
its base a few million zombie eyed foot soldiers drawn
from what the crzed ranks of the evangelical
protestant churches. They will stay home for John
McCain, especially for his wife Cindy.
On the other hand the Democratic Party machines draw
the telephone bank volunteers more from the unions
than from any othe source. They will not stay home.
They will be working their asses off for Hillary or
Barak no matter who is nominated. For the first time
in a long time the unions are moving. And their
starting point in consciousness will be pretty low. No
more GOP.
Basically, they will go back to Bill Clinton?s
election maxim, only this time with more troops, and
stronger motiviation.
Why?
It?s the economy.
And to a lesser extent, the war.
These nuts and bolts are known to all who pay
attention, which means that we can expect the McCain
campaign, with the backing of the Bush White House, to
get downer and dirtier in the next phase of the
campaign.
