That's the main point, right there.

Facebook, Myspace and various other toys are used by
millions and millions of young people.

Young people don't use the internet the same way older
folks do. We tend to be dinosaurs. Personally, my
patterns of web use were formed ten years ago, and
haven't changed all that much. Younger people have
different habits, built around different tools.

The left needs to be able to communicate with young
people. That means being able to use their preferred
means of communication.

(Of course, it's preferable for most such
communication to to be carried out by comrades who are
themselves young...)
