Re: [Marxism] Facebook?

I found the Facebook interface kludgy and slow. Thought MySpace was even
worse. Almost gave up on social networking tools. Then I discovered
Twitter<http://twitter.com>and find it genuinely useful (and
addictive.).

Twitter exists somewhere between blogging and IM. Messages are 140
characters max and go out to whoever is following you while you can follow
whoever interests you. There's all manner of tools for Twitter now (For
example, TwitterFeed automatically sends the first 140 characters of my blog
posts to Twitter) , and you can access it via the web, IM, or cell phone
TXT.

During the S.F. Olympic Torch run, two Twitter accounts had coverage of it
real time as it was happening. Organizers of events and protests can
certainly use it to communicate to whoever and also to communicate
privately.

I find new, interesting stuff there all the time and breaking news often
hits Twitter before almost anywhere else. It's mostly geeks now, but no
reason politicos can't join too.

Anyone here already on Twitter? I'm polizeros
<http://twitter.com/polizeros>on Twitter.
