Re: [Marxism] Obama concedes remarks were ill chosen

I don't know about that.

Gun people won't like it, but he didn't imply anything about guns being
harmful to society or that they shouldn't be had. I find it hard to
believe this would change anyone's vote.

People who think of themselves as "working-class" won't like being
called racist (in other words) but it was a vague statement and no one
can deny that racism still exists in at least some people's hearts - at
least, not anyone who would vote for Obama in the first place. On the
other hand, implicitly tying "anti-immigrant sentiment" could certainly
hurt him with people in denial about the truth of said implication.

His implicate "religion is the opiate of the masses" sentiment could
definitely scare his supporters, but everyone certainly knows by now
that he goes to church.

The most potentially damaging part, his implicate endorsement of Free
Trade, isn't even being commented on. I don't get it. Isn't that
supposed to be the number one issue for those recognized as working-class?

And Hillary just looks ridiculous by now, talking about how much she
loves guns, weeping while talking about Martin Luther King and so on.
I'm doubtful she has the credibility by now to capitalize much on things
like this.

Conclusion: All in all, this will probably blow over as soon as a
different sound bite to reply over and over comes along.
