[Marxism] Obama's pre-law school background.

Bill Quimby, "What did Obama major in at Harvard [in his undergraduate years
- I know about the Law School thing.] I sense a strong sociological approach
to issues - I read his comments as if I was reading Durkheim... or C. Wright
Mills even. Perhaps his weakest "electable" point is that he understands
class issues and is actually willing to discuss them - certainly an Amerikan
no no."

Obama went to Occidental College in LA and then to Columbia for his last two
undergrad years, studying political science and international relations. He
worked for NY PIRG and then as a community organizer in Chicago before
starting law school at the age of 27. I've heard he was considered a radical
nationalist at Occidental and was a Saul Alinsky-type community organizer in
Chicago, so obviously there was an evolution there.

He is --clearly-- head and shoulders above anyone else in his understanding
of politics in the current presidential campaign, and probably quite
exceptional in this regard among all U.S. politicians of that league. Mostly
to this point it seems to have helped him.

Joaquin
