Re: [Marxism] Bush admin. claims Iran is main foe in Iraq, complain of lack of Arab support to Maliki

What in the name of Holy St Patrick, is one to make of all this? Iran is
now (!!!???) the enemy , but cannot be attacked directly because even the
crazies in Washington know that the USA cannot open a third front. (Or do
they ?- hmmm!).

To defeat the Sunni insurgency the invading imperialist powers had to play
the Shiite &Ayatollah Khomeini card.
That automatically strengthened Iran's influence in Iraq.

Then they attacked the anti-Iranian section of the Shiite nation i.e. the
Sadrists.
That automatically strengthened Iran's influence in Iraq.

Then they armed the Sunni times against the Al-Qaeda (i.e. in all
probability the Baathists) section of the Sunnis. Thus they split the Sunni
community and of course - that automatically strengthened Iran's influence
in Iraq.

And to cap it all off they allowed the Prime Minister, who cannot take a
dump without express permission from Petraeus to attack the Sadrists in
Basra. The attack was botched and Iran stepped in and brokered a peace deal
which yes you've guessed it -

automatically increased Iran's influence in Iraq.

So the tactical and operational superiority of the imperialist army in the
field has nevertheless led to a strategic defeat of enormous proportions.
Long ago Cheney said something like they hadn't invaded Iraq to strengthened
the Ayatollahs (duh!!)

regards

Gary
