[Marxism] Oil, the PRD and AMLO in Mexico

All, the PRD and the much larger movement against privatization 
and sale of PEMEX in Mexico lead by the National Democratic 
Convention (CND) is coming to a head against the illegitimate PAN 
gov't.

Following this in La Jornada, the unofficial tribune of this movement 
is critical to understanding the latest developments there:

Luis Obrador (AMLO) is a minority in the PRD which is centrifugally 
flying apart under pressure to make a deal with the ruling rightwing 
PAN party. AMLO called for the "A Second Republic" and a new 
constituent assembly to redo the Mexican Constitution. He has openly 
attacked sections of the PRD because of their falling under pressure 
to make a deal over the selling of PEMEX. Huge mobilizations have 
taken place in Mexico DF with 10s of thousands of peoples pledging 
their lives to defend the national patrimony that petroleum represents.

A section of the PRD congressional delegation seized both houses
of Congress two days ago to prevent a vote on the "Reform" as it is
known there.

The PRD internal elections, where the right-wing officially won is now 
under as much scrutiny as last years general elections have, with charges 
of fraud being raised.
