ok, here's my plan:
1. i will put people with badly formatted posts onto moderation, maybe a
couple handfuls at a time.
2. they will stay there until they get their formatting correct.
3. infrequent offenders or people who post very rarely will get a notice
soon thereafter advising them of the issue and then placed back into
normal posting, as a courtesy.
4. frequent posters are expected to fix their problems in conjunction
with me before going back on regular posting.
5. Lou: leave the "Pending requests" queue to me for a couple weeks, or
at least leave alone the moderated ones. i'll deal.
6. i will keep notes while the problems get solved, then write something
up for a web page after the variety of problems are solved.
Four or five people posted today already with poor formatting or
one-long-line problems. But each poster has a slightly different
problem, so rather than waste marxmail time by writing onlist with each
offense, i will push people in the right direction and then prepare web
page. this way we burden the list with as little of the "technical
notes" as possible.
